sMS-100

 sMS-100 is a network player which supports SqueezeLite, AirPlay, DLNA/MPD, and HQPlayer NAA function.

  • ‘SqueezeLite’ output mode: connect sMS-100 to Logitech Media Server (LMS) through a local area network and playback the music files listed in LMS.
  • ‘AirPlay’ output mode: connect sMS-100 to compatible Apple devices (iTunes, iPad, etc.) through a local area network and playback the music files.
  • ‘DLNA/MPD’ output mode: connect sMS-100 to DLNA server through a local area network and playback the music files shared by DLNA server. Also, connect sMS-100 to Vortexbox based music servers through a local area network and playback the music files.
  • ‘HQPlayer NAA’ output mode: connect sMS-100 to HQPlayer through a local area network and playback the music files.

 

Several sMS-100s connected to the local area network can playback each music files individually at the same time.

You can simply set up the multi-room audio system by connecting a USB audio device to USB port on the rear panel of sMS-100.

There are several ways to control sMS-100, you can control sMS-100 by your PC or MAC or application on your smart devices.

Yes, the internet connection is necessary to operate sMS-100 properly.

Please connect a network router to the Ethernet port on the rear panel of sMS-100 by LAN cable.

The board for sMS-100 is ready made product including the 3 outputs.

The output for sMS-100 is only for USB Audio device, and doesn’t support the storage device as like HDD.

Please be noted that  you should connect 1 x USB audio device to operate sMS-100 properly.

Yes, USB cable has an effect on the sound, we recommend to use dCBL-U2 in your system.

 

we recommend to use mBPS-d2s to supply the purest battery power to the units.

if you have 1 x mBPS-d2s, please feed the power to sMS-100 and get power for  dX-USB HD from USB power, in this case all system can be run by battery power.

There is an “advance setting” (under the settings app) for PlugPlayer that forces the app to keep running in the background and wifi on. You need to keep them on to use sMS-100 by Plugplayer properly.

Please follow the below step to upgrade sMS-100 to version1.2 accordingly. Please be noted that re-upgrade the unit if there is abnormal symptom occurred after you upgraded ver.1.1 to ver.1.2 earlier.

Once you update the unit, you can not revert back to an older version.

Update Procedure:

1. In /APPS/Software Update select Update and wait for a link to appear “Back to the Main Page”. Do not close the GUI so you can track the update progress.
2. Reboot the unit and wait a few minutes for the system to restart. 
3. In /Settings/Squeezelite name the player SOtM-Squeeze and press save. Wait for the page to refresh.
4. In /Settings/MPD name the player SOtM-MPD and press save. Wait for the page to refresh.
5. In /Settings/DLNA name the player SOtM-DLNA and press save. Wait for the page to refresh.
6. In /Settings/Airplay name the player SOtM-Airplay and press save. Wait for the page to refresh.

Update notes:

7. In/APPS/APP Switcher select the appropriate output mode desired.
